Half-Life: Alyx

According to a report from The Leak, Half-Life: Alyx will be coming to PlayStation VR2. The Leak, citing an anonymous source, claims that Sony was busy negotiating with Valve about bringing Half-Life: Alyx over to PSVR 2 for quite some time before an agreement was reached.

They go on to say that Sony bought the publishing rights to Half-Life: Alyx for PlayStation VR2. While it seems odd that Valve wouldn't publish the game themselves, it could be that part of the agreement here has an internal Sony studio handling the port instead of Valve. Valve's track record with developing for consoles and supporting them after release hasn't exactly been stellar, so they may not have wanted to deal with making a PSVR 2 port themselves.

The Leak's source also mentions that Half-Life: Alyx will not be released during the PSVR 2 launch window which, as we learned this week, may run from late 2022 through to March 2023.

Admittedly, the idea that Half-Life: Alyx would come to PlayStation VR2 isn't anything new. This is the first time a source, though unknown, has actually said it was in development for the new VR device from Sony. We do not know how trustworthy or accurate leaks are from The Leak, so be sure to take this report with a big grain of salt until some official announcement is or is not made.
