See how well your games will run on the Deck.

Valve just announced a program they're calling Deck Verified. This is a new system that will help new and existing Steam Deck owners see if their favorite games will run without issue on the upcoming portable device from Valve.

Valve is currently reviewing the entire Steam catalog. They will be categorizing each game by its level of compatibility with the Steam Deck. Customers will be able to see these categories on the Steam Store and in their Libraries. Valve notes that they have already started to review games and will continue to check games at launch and afterwards.

This system will feature four categories of Deck compatibility:

• Verified: The game works great on Steam Deck, right out of the box.
• Playable: The game may require some manual tweaking by the user to play. This includes having to manually select a community-made controller configuration, needing the touchscreen to navigate a launcher, or something else.
• Unsupported: The game is currently not functional on Steam Deck.
• Unknown: We haven't checked this game for compatibility yet.

Valve says that games must meet four requirements to be considered Deck Verified. These are:

• Input: The title should have full controller support, use appropriate controller input icons, and automatically bring up the on-screen keyboard when needed.
• Display: The game should support the default resolution of Steam Deck (1280x800 or 1280x720), have good default settings, and text should be legible.
• Seamlessness: The title shouldn’t display any compatibility warnings, and if there’s a launcher it should be navigable with a controller.
• System Support: If running through Proton, the game and all its middleware should be supported by Proton. This includes anti-cheat support.
