In January 2014, Valve is going to hold a Steam Dev Days conference in Seattle, Washington. This two-day long conference is for videogame professionals to meet up in a "relaxed, off the record environment to share design and industry expertise."

Entry fee is $95 per person but a couple of the hotels around the area are offering up discounts for the event.
Steam Dev Days is a by invitation, two-day conference where video game professionals can meet in a relaxed, off the record environment to share design and industry expertise, participate in roundtable discussions, and attend lectures by industry veterans.

Topics will include game economies, virtual reality, Linux/OpenGL, user-generated content, and more. Developers will also have the opportunity to test-drive and provide feedback on Steam OS, prototype Steam Machines, and Steam Controllers.

A list of sessions, speakers, and more will be announced soon by Valve. As this is an off the record event for developers, members of the media will more than likely not be permitted.

Developers can find out more on the event at the Steam Dev Days website.
