    According to some tweets by those in attendance at Steam Dev Days, Valve will soon include DualShock 4 support via Steam. There was no firm release date set for this but it was accompanied by word that additional controller support will be coming later.

    From the looks of things, this will utilize the same interface that the Steam Controller uses for creating custom configurations.

    Last year was the first and perhaps only go around for Steam Dev Days. The developer conference took place last year and brought in around 1,200 developers from around the world to talk about game development with other devs. This year? Nothing.

    Valve has officially scrapped the event for 2015, opting instead to have a larger presence at GDC 2015. When asked about the event, a Valve representative issued the following statement.

  • Valve 'Days Away' From Releasing a Standard Interface for Virtual Reality Controllers

    Brian Coomer at Valve says that the company is mere "days away" from releasing a VR software dev kit that will "give game makers a standard way to provide an interface for VR controllers."

    The kit will allegedly be coming during the Steam Dev Days conference taking place January 14 through January 15 in Seattle. Coomer didn't say much about the development kit or provide many details, but he did shed some light on Valve's interest in VR and the Oculus Rift.

    The first five speakers coming to Valve's Steam Dev Days event have been confirmed by Valve themselves. The companies slated thus far include AMD, Intel, Nvidia, Oculus, and Unity.

    In addition to these speakers and presentations, Valve will have representatives on hand to give presentations of upcoming Steam Machines.     Valve Announces Steam Dev Days Conference

    In January 2014, Valve is going to hold a Steam Dev Days conference in Seattle, Washington. This two-day long conference is for videogame professionals to meet up in a "relaxed, off the record environment to share design and industry expertise."

    Entry fee is $95 per person but a couple of the hotels around the area are offering up discounts for the event.
