  • Valve Files for Half-Life 3 Trademark as Private Tracker Reveals 46 Developers Assigned to Half-Life 3 Development

Earlier today, it was noticed by those at NeoGAF that Valve has indeed filed for a trademark on Half-Life 3.

In addition, a tool used by Valve to show which staff are assigned to which project was discovered as being public just about an hour ago. The tool showed that 46 developers are assigned to Half-Life 3 with 71 developers assigned to Left 4 Dead 3.

    Things are getting exciting now!

There is a comment going around that this is a measure against unscrupulous people possibly trying to register the name before Valve. But goddamnit it has been a long time, I really hope this is it.

I think there's some validity behind it given the second part of the news today too. So there's hope.

Valve owns the Half Life name, i don't see how anyone else would be able to do that.

I love Half Life so much.

Valvetime discovered that the trademark that was filed with the Trademarks and Design Registration Office of the European Union (OHIM) has been removed.

It was listed for only about a week before being removed. However, the weird thing now is that a listing for Portal 3 has gone up just two days ago on October 2. Granted, this filing...
