Just a little reminder to you PC video game players out there, the open beta for Call of Duty: WWII is now live! You have from now until October 2 at 10AM (PT) to play the multiplayer beta. Just download the Call of Duty: WWII open beta through Steam and go, that's it.

Activision did set up a brief FAQ for those interested in this Call of Duty: WWII open beta, so be sure to check that out.

I see that this PC beta is already off to a smashing success with the community.

Yeah, I dont know. I havent played a CoD game since MW2. It feels so stilted and the maps feel like they are just circles with objects around.

Anyone that has played the last few CODs, does it feel normal to you?

      That's been CoD for years.

This year's is really no different. I admit I barely played last year's game though. I played three rounds of this beta. It's Call of Duty. SMGs and snipers still reign supreme. Anything but the DM/TDM modes are pretty much dead already. It took me over five minutes for the game to find enough players for me to play one round of the War mode yesterday evening. Speaking of that mode, there's a map for that mode (the only one for the beta?) that has a nearly unwinnable second objective if you're on the attacking side. It's just downright terrible when you have these kind of objective modes when the spawns are 15 feet away at all times and the maps are the size of doll houses.

Wow. I never thought I would feel sad for call of duty, but that was really a sad experience.

How can a game which has been using the same ultra modified and optimized engine since 1980, that looks significantly worse, has barely any physics involved, and has ridiculously smaller maps perform considerably worse than BF1 does?!?!
COD MW from 10 years ago had better animations than this... Even counting that they are still using half of the same ones.
And when I saw that "press v for bayonet charge" and saw that silly animation... Is it just me or it felt like an afterthought?
I also haven't played COD since MW2, and the maps feel way faster and smaller and rounder than I remember. It's like they just decided to design all mas after Nuketown. In just half of a match you already learn the whole map. Why do they still even bother putting snipers in the game? There is like zero long range engagement opportunities. Its for the 360 no scopes and the quick-scoping? I guess I just suck at them
