  • How to Use the Battlefield 6 Sledgehammer

    Tap, tap, BOOM.
An image explaining and showing how the Sledgehammer tool works in Battlefield 6, noting that it can take out walls, inflict damage on vehicles, and melee attack enemies.

Recently, Electronic Arts shared a look at how the Assault Ladder works in Battlefield 6. They shared how you can use Assault Ladders to climb to out of reach locations or as an elevated platform on its own. Today, EA shares a look at the Sledgehammer for Battlefield 6.

The Sledgehammer, as you may already assume, will be useful for demolishing buildings and creating new pathways by taking out walls. Sledgehammers will also be quite useful for damaging vehicles. EA notes that they will inflict only "a small amount" of damage to vehicles.

The amount of hits it takes to destroy an entire corner of a building does seem to be rather absurd. In the clip they shared, it took just two hits to completely take out an entire corner of a three story building. While it looks visually appealing seeing all of that debris fall, the actual ease of which it came broke seems almost comical.

Naturally, the Sledgehammer can also be used to take out enemies. They show off a Sledgehammer melee takedown, but it can probably be assumed that you can just swing a Sledgehammer normally at enemies to damage them.

Ubisoft is like, "We taught them everything they knew about sledgehammers." While unrealistically powerful, I imagine you only have about ten seconds before you're shot to death. Although I don't know how fast a wrecking crew would be... Perhaps erase a building and its debris in those ten seconds when 20 players all swing their sledgehammers at the same time? Oh crap, I just realized that can be a Battlefield Portal game mode. "Wrecking Crew: Please Don't Sue Nintendo Edition".
