Dynamic Multi Frame Generation was one of the big features Nvidia talked about when DLSS 4.5 was announced. While DLSS 4.5 has been available since January, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation was not available publicly until right this second. As of March 31, 2026, those RTX 50 Series owners who download the latest Nvidia app beta will get access to DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation.
DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation sure is a mouthful. It's also a technology that will automatically shift between different frame multipliers "to strike the perfect balance between frame rate, image quality and responsiveness." Instead of sitting at a fixed multiplier of 2x, or 4x, or whatever, Dynamic Multi Frame Generation will adjust the multiplier on the fly to hit a target framerate. That is to say: In more taxing scenes, the multiplier might increase to maintain the target framerate. In more simple scenes, it may lower the multiplier because the GPU can more easily hit the target framerate with "real" frames.
According to Nvidia, you will need to be on the current beta for the Nvidia app and also using GeForce Game Ready Driver 595.97 WHQL or newer.
In addition to the dynamic frame gen that was added today, Nvidia is also introducing 5x and 6x options for Multi Frame Generation. These new multipliers will also work with the Dynamic Multi Frame Generation feature in addition to the standard fixed multiplier.
NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 Enhanced Frame Generation Model
Nvidia also introduced a new DLSS Frame Generation model today called Preset B. This particular model is supposed to help keep a game's user interface looking good even when frame gen is turned on.
Our new NVIDIA app update also introduces a new DLSS Frame Generation model that enhances in-game user interfaces in select titles, by incorporating additional game engine data.
Available for GeForce RTX 40 Series and 50 Series users, the new model improves the quality and clarity of mini maps, on-screen user interface elements, and other aspects of game interfaces.
The new model takes additional UI buffers available for selected game engines allowing it to more intelligently manage the rendering of static user interfaces when DLSS Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, DLSS Multi Frame Generation, or DLSS Frame Generation are activated. As of March 31st, 2026, some supported games include Battlefield 6, Borderlands 4, Dragon Age: The Veilguard, EA SPORTS F1® 25, God of War Ragnarök, Hogwarts Legacy, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle™, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Monster Hunter Wilds, Star Wars Outlaws™, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered, and The Outer Worlds 2.

NVIDIA Auto Shader Compilation Beta
Last, but certainly not least, Nvidia rolled out the beta for their Auto Shader Compilation (ASC). This might be a more worthwhile feature than anything else that was introduced today.With ASC, Nvidia aims to rebuild DirectX 12 shaders while your system is idle. This would, in theory, reduce how many times shaders would need to recompile in games following driver updates.
Shaders define every pixel on screen. Because this code is written in developer-friendly languages, it must be translated into compatible machine code. This process, known as compilation, begins at game install. During this time, your CPU converts the generic shader code into an optimized format that your GPU can execute. Modern titles require tens of thousands of shader translations, a process that must be repeated after game patches or GPU driver updates. This beta is the first step into optimizing shader compilation for GeForce gamers.
This honestly sounds like a bigger game changer than the Dynamic Multi Frame Generation stuff.
Nvidia says that this won't work for games you just downloaded. You will still need to run a game at least once and have the game compile the shaders for the first time. This is meant to be used after a new graphics card driver update.
To use this feature, you will need to be on GeForce Game Ready Driver 595.97 WHQL or newer. You will also need to enable the feature through the Nvidia app as it's disabled by default. Go to the Graphics tab, select Global Settings, and then Shader Cache. You can also force a shader compile by selecting "Compile Now" under the 3 dots on the Shader Cache screen if you don't feel like waiting until your system is idle.
