One of the weirdest ways a game has been leaked.
One of the weirdest leaks of all time just took place on Steam on the morning of March 6. Either Teyon or Nacon accidentally accidentally replaced all of the RoboCop: Rogue City data on Steam with an early build of what seems to be an unannounced reboot of Hunter: The Reckoning.
One of the first people to notice the issue was a Twitter user named Silent. When launching RoboCop after the update they were greeted by a title screen for Hunter: The Reckoning along with what appears to be a very early in-development build of that game. Another user, Edness, notes that the build for this Hunter: The Reckoning is dated May 20, 2025.
The incorrect files were soon pulled from Steam and replaced with the actual update for RoboCop: Rogue City that was intended to be released.
There were a handful of Hunter: The Reckoning hack-and-slash games released between 2002 and 2003. A text based adventure, Hunter: The Reckoning - The Beast of Glenkildove, was released in January 2025. What was seen in this latest leak looked more akin to a reboot of the older hack-and-slash titles.
Hunter: The Darkness is actually a part of the World of Darkness universe. Hunter: The Reckoning began as a horror-focused tabletop RPG, which had its first edition release in November 1999. As a part of the World of Darkness, Hunter: The Reckoning shares the same settings and world as properties such as Werewolf: The Apocalypse, Mage: The Ascension, and Vampire: The Masquerade. This includes the 2025 release of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2.
It isn't clear if this leaked build of Hunter: The Reckoning is for a potential reboot of the older games, an entirely original entry, or something else entirely. It's also not clear if this Hunter: The Reckoning will ever be released at all or if the entire project has been scrapped.
As it currently stands, RoboCop: Rogue City's publisher, Nacon, filed for insolvency. A Nacon Connect showcase event that would show off upcoming games was also delayed. That showcase was set to air this week but has instead been delayed until May.

I should get Robocop: Rogue City Unfinished Business on PS5 physical while I still can. I don't know if there will be anymore copies printed if Nacon isn't around. Or if it's already discontinued from being out this long regardless of Nacon's status. I just hope Robocop: Rogue City is playable on PS5 by now. I heard it was very buggy during its launch.
