    The battle continues.

This week, developer on The Sinking City, Frogwares, claims that the game's publisher, Nacon, illegally hacked a copy of their game and uploaded it to Steam. Shortly thereafter, Frogwares issued a DMCA takedown notice against its own game to get it removed from Steam. This was just the latest move in the ongoing battle between developer and publisher that began back in April of 2020.

In response to the DMCA takedown notice and claims against them...

  • The Sinking City Devs Claim Publisher Hacked Their Game and Uploaded it to Steam

A tale of developer vs. publisher.

This past Friday, The Sinking City was released on Steam seemingly without the consent of Frogwares, the game's developer. This was, at the time, the latest in the ongoing legal battle between Frogwares and publisher Nacon. • Frogwares Details Why The Sinking City Mysteriously Disappeared from All Storefronts

Here's a hint: Nacon, their licensee, has something to do with it.

The Sinking City, the Lovecraftian inspired horror/investigation game that we talked rather favorably about in our review, has been missing from multiple storefronts. You are not able to find the game right now for sale through Steam, Epic Games Store, the Xbox One, nor even the PlayStation 4. A statement published today by the game's developer, Frogwares, details just what happened.
