A physical release is also coming.

According to the rather reliable leaker billbil-kun, the release date for the PlayStation 5 version of Starfield may finally be known.

In an article shared on Deadlabs, billbil-kun says that Starfield will release on PlayStation 5 on April 7, 2026. It will release both digitally and physically. This release date on PS5 comes roughly two and a half years after the game's initial release on Xbox Series consoles and PC.

The PlayStation 5 release of Starfield will, according to this leak, be offered in two different flavors. There will be the Standard edition and a Premium edition. According to the leak, the Standard version will cost just €49.99, while the Premium will go for €69.99. These prices are cheaper than what the game launched at on Xbox and PC in 2023. That's probably the smart play here from Microsoft, Bethesda's parent company, given that the release has taken so long to come out.

Pre-orders are allegedly set to open on March 18. As it stands, there have been no official announcements made about the PlayStation 5 release just yet.

A major update for Starfield has also been rumored for several months now. Some were calling it a "2.0" type of update. However, Todd Howard recently told Kinda Funny that Starfield is not getting a huge 2.0-style update. However, he says that there are new updates and new content coming "really soon" and that they will talk about it when ready.
