Nova Antarctica is a newly released atmospheric, narrative-driven survival adventure coming at you from RexLabo and Parco Games. Today's release on PC takes players to the year 2900 when the world has finally run out of second chances.
To be honest, even the year 2900 seems like a stretch for that. I was thinking we'd last until maybe 2027 at the latest.
Anyway, Nova Antarctica takes players to a "far-future Antarctica transformed by climate collapse." There are strange new ecosystems, and the "lingering echoes of humanity's past." The game follows the story of a child that was drawn southwards by a strange and mysterious signal that originated from the South Pole. Players will experience "a deeply personal journey through isolation, memory, and survival at the very edge of the world."
Nova Antarctica retails for $24.99, but there is a launch week (until February 10th) discount that brings the price down to just $19.99.
Blending survival mechanics, crafting, exploration, and the ability to befriend wildlife companions, Nova Antarctica challenges players to endure one of the most unforgiving environments on Earth while uncovering secrets buried beneath the ice. This is not the Antarctica of history, but a land reshaped by centuries of change - unfamiliar, alive, and quietly haunting.
“This game began as a question: what happens to humanity when the world goes quiet?” says RexLabo Game Director and Creator, m. Hayashi. “Now that Nova Antarctica is in players' hands, I hope they discover stories that feel personal, fragile, and unforgettable.”
Players will navigate a branching narrative shaped by their decisions, their relationships to the continent's mysteries, and the traces they leave behind in a world that remembers everything. With its meditative pacing and emotionally driven storytelling, Nova Antarctica offers a distinctly intimate take on science fiction survival.
