According to a report by Videocardz.com, Nvidia is expected to officially announce DLSS 4.5 tomorrow. As part of the January 6th reveal, Nvidia is expected to have demos and videos that compare DLSS 4.5 with the currently used DLSS 4.
Part of this update to DLSS 4.5 is the move to a "2nd generation transformer" model. This updated model used in Nvidia's Super Resolution technology will boast the following improvements when compared to the current transformer model:
- Better temporal stability
- Less ghosting
- Cleaner anti-aliasing
There is one new technology that will be reserved only for the Nvidia RTX 50-series. Those of you with Nvidia RTX 50-series cards will soon get to try out a "Dynamic 6x Frame Generation" feature. As the name suggests, this feature would see a variable Frame Generation multiplier used. According to what Videocardz says, "users may see 3x to 6x more frames, depending on settings."
DLSS 4.5 with the updated 2nd generation transformer model sounds like it will be rolled out alongside tomorrow's announcement. The "Dynamic 6x Frame Generation" tech will be made available to 50-series card owners some time this spring.
Nvidia will host a special GeForce On community update later today at 9 PM (PT). You can tune into Nvidia's Twitch channel for that, but don't expect to see any new GPU reveals.
