  • One of the Best Horror Games Ever Made, Condemned: Criminal Origins, is Now Delisted

    Happy Halloween?
First-person view of holding a pipe as a crazed person attacks the viewer.

Here on All Hallows' Eve, one of the best survival horror games ever made, Condemned: Criminal Origins was pulled from Steam, the Xbox storefront, and possibly other digital platforms.

Nobody seems to know exactly why Condemned was pulled from these storefronts. No official announcement was shared, which means there is plenty of fan speculation starting to circulate on social media. The biggest hope amongst fans is that this is a sign that a remaster of Condemned: Criminal Origins is coming.

Condemned's developer, Monolith Productions, was shut down by Warner Bros. Discovery in February 2025. Warner Bros. Discovery recently put themselves up for sale, with companies such as Netflix and Comcast being potential buyers. Sega was the publisher for Condemned when it released in late 2005 and early 2006.

While a remaster or even a full remake would be extremely welcome, it's best to not get your hopes up. Between the closure of Monolith and the potential sale of Warner Bros. Discovery, it could mean that the Condemned IP is now just lost in limbo. In fact, if you want to play things extra safe, you may want to make sure you own a copy of another Monolith classic, F.E.A.R., just in case that one is also delisted without warning.
