If you played through 2018's Darksiders 3, you may have been waiting (not so) patiently for the fourth entry. Well, it only took seven years but Darksiders 4 was finally announced. This one is said to pick up after the ending of the first Darksiders game.
Today during a new THQ Nordic Showcase, fans finally got the announcement they've been waiting for: Darksiders 4. And outside of a teaser, that's basically all the fans received today as no release date nor additional footage was shown off.
However, the Steam listing for Darksiders 4 does include a bit of added information. The description suggests that you will be able to play as any of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Darksiders 4 will also once again be a third-person action-adventure game. This time, there will be online co-op support for 2-4 players and split screen co-op in addition to the usual single-player experience.
There is no release date set for Darksiders 4 just yet. It will release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
The first Darksiders game came out in 2010, and Darksiders 2 quickly followed in 2012. Both of these were developed by Vigil Games. Gunfire Games took over development for 2018's Darksiders 3. Airship Syndicate had a semi-spinoff title, Darksiders Genesis, which was a top-down action title that came in 2019.
(God damn it, it's Gunfire Games again? The ones who didn't care about Zelda style puzzles?!..........[Reads about Vigil Games' history and its relation to Gunfire Games].......DAMN IT! Fine, I'll wishlist it.)
