It's come a long way from being so bad it had to be pulled entirely.
Cyberpunk 2077 can now be played by those with PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. It seems like both versions will allow you to play only the base game, with the Phantom Liberty expansion being a separate purchase for PlayStation 5 players.
The PlayStation 5 version includes higher resolution gameplay, ray tracing support, 3D audio, and DualSense exclusive features. The PlayStation 4 version... well, it exists. Both versions will include all of the updates released to date. This means, as you are probably aware, that there are hundreds or even thousands of fixes for Cyberpunk 2077 that weren't there at launch. If you gave it a go before but couldn't deal with the bugs, maybe you should try it out again now.
Those updates also added in a bunch of additional, free content such as vehicles, missions, quality-of-life improvements, and more.
CD Projekt Red says that there's also an Update 2.3 coming? Details on what will be included in Update 2.3 are non-existent other than it's coming soon. The studio itself says that it should rival the scope of the Update 2.2 release. That 2.2 update added in over 100 new character customization options and a bunch of paint job customization options for vehicles. It also added a bunch of new cars to purchase, additional NPC interactions, and a bunch of additions and improvements to the photo mode.
PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium subscribers also have a few other amazing games to try out after finishing Cyberpunk 2077. Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden was added this month (awesome game), as is Bluey: The Video Game (I hear the Queen was a fan), Risk of Rain 2 (no idea how this one is now but it used to be amazing), Abiotic Factor, Tropico 6, New World: Aeternum, and Planet Zoo. PlayStation Plus Premium members specifically also get access to Twisted Metal 3 and Twisted Metal 4.

#1azalea commented07-10-2025, 08:31 AMEditing a commentI really enjoyed it on first release, albeit on a relatively powerful PC, so this game is the one with the most meaningful redemption arc to me personally. Games don't easily push into my top 5 of all time but this one did. I'm so glad it got the care and attention it should have had, even if it had to be post-release. I like Battlefront 2. I like No Mans Sky. Fallout 76 is okay. But I absolutely love Cyberpunk 2077.
