Square Enix celebrated "Dragon Quest Day" by announcing the release date of Dragon Quest 1 & 2 HD-2D Remake. That release date is October 30, 2025 and it's aiming to be released on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, Steam, and the Microsoft Store.
For those wondering what Dragon Quest Day is, it's the anniversary of the release of the original Dragon Quest game in Japan. That date was May 27, 1986.
Alongside the reveal and release date announcement, Square Enix also notes that pre-orders for the digital versions have started to go live today. It looks like the bog standard version of the game starts at $59.99. There are also physical versions coming for the console release and a physical Collector's Edition that will retail for $149.99. There will also be a package that adds in Dragon Quest 3 HD-2D Remake with these new releases, which will cost $99.99.
