The Xbox (and PC) exclusive, Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, is about to lose that "Xbox exclusive" bit. Microsoft and developer Ninja Theory announced Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 Enhanced Edition for the PlayStation 5.
Expected to arrive some time this summer, this Enhanced Edition will come bundled with some new features. Said "new features" were not yet revealed though. A firm release date outside of "summer" was also not revealed.
A video update from Ninja Theory went up today to celebrate the anniversary of the original launch of the game on Xbox and PC. Naturally, the new features coming in the PS5 Enhanced Edition will also hit the Xbox and PC versions as a free update.
Ninja Theory says that they are continuing to work hard on optimizing Hellblade 2 for both PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. It was also not shared what sort of differences there may be between base PS5 and the Pro model.
Amusingly, this is almost the exact opposite situation for the original Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice back in 2017. The first game launched as a timed exclusive on PlayStation before coming out on Xbox about seven months later in April 2018. Ninja Theory was purchased by Microsoft in June 2018.
