During their latest financial report, Ubisoft says that they are going to "provide additional development time to some of its biggest productions." This moves comes after the studio saw how well received Assassin's Creed Shadows was, both in sales numbers and review scores, after it was given extra time for polish.

During their end of the year financial earnings call (Ubisoft.com PDF direct link) with investors, Ubisoft made the following remarks:

After a thorough review of its pipeline that took place from October to December, the Group decided to provide additional development time to some of its biggest productions in order to create the best conditions for success. This decision has already been beneficial to the quality of Assassin’s Creed Shadows. As a consequence, FY2026-27 and FY2027-28 will see significant growth vs. FY2025-26 on the back of strong content coming from the Group’s largest brands.
Though Ubisoft did not name any specific titles, Insider Gaming cited a few sources that named a few key Ubisoft franchises that will fall under this new initiative. Those sources say that it's likely the next Assassin's Creed and new Far Cry installment have been pushed back internally. At least with Far Cry, that game has reportedly been internally pushed back until at least 2026.

Insider Gaming also speculates that another big Ubisoft production that will be delayed internally is the Splinter Cell Remake. As far as anybody is aware, the Splinter Cell Remake is still being worked on at Ubisoft, though not much has been shared since it was first announced back in 2022. Insider Gaming also assumes that a new, though unannounced, Ghost Recon title was also delayed internally.

With none of these titles in question having any sort of a public release date, most people probably won't even notice any sort of delay.
