  • Destiny 2: Heresy Act 3 Launched

Plenty of new content and story content.
a mystical chamber filled with floating purple crystals encased in glowing energy spheres, surrounded by ancient architecture with dim, atmospheric lighting. The otherworldly ambiance creates a sense of magic or fantasy, making it visually striking and potentially relevant to creative storytelling or artistic inspiration.

The third and final act of Destiny 2: Heresy is now available. This update brings new story content, new Artifact mods, new and updated encounters in the Nether and Court of Blades, and the return of the Sunless Cell strike from Destiny 1.

Today's release of Act 3 also comes with new updates for the Barrow-Dyad SMG. This Exotic weapon now has two additional catalysts. Players are also now able to pick up its fifth and final intrinsic ability. Bungie notes that those who complete the Derealize Mission and earn the "Chosen Path" Triumph by 9:59 am PT May 6th will unlock the ability to purchase a physical replica of the Barrow-Dyad.

Also of note is that there is some Destiny 2 content now available now in both Sea of Thieves and Brawlhalla. The Sea of Thieves content allows players to have Guardian themed ships and other cosmetics. The Brawlhalla content includes playable Guardian classes along with some classic armor and weapons like Ace of Spades.

Bungie also says that a Rite of the Nine event is coming soon for all players. This event will offer unique dungeon challenges that will offer "refreshed dungeon weapons with a distinctive Nine-themed design." Also coming soon is the new vehicle-based PvP mode, Heavy Metal, that allows players to use Brigs and Drakes. In a weird way, this vehicle-based PvP mode is a throwback to Destiny 1's Combined Arms mode, which featured vehicles in some of its larger PvP maps. That mode was eventually removed from the game later in Destiny 1's life.

Title update 8.2.5.3 was also released for Destiny 2 today. That full changelog is below.

      Review: Destiny 2 (PC)
      by Shawn Zipay

Like the first game, we're left wanting more.

When Destiny first launched in late 2014, it was something special, almost magical. Bungie and Activision created a new franchise that let players explore parts of our Solar System from their couches, forge new friendships, take down massive enemies, and feel akin to comic book superheroes. However, that game was not without its faults. At launch, the game lacked much in the way of in-game story, opting instead to send the...
