If you can believe it, fans aren't happy about that.

At last week's State of Play showcase, Sony announced the remaster that everybody was waiting for: Days Gone. This PlayStation 5 release of Days Gone Remastered will have a $10 upgrade path if you already own the PlayStation 4 version of the game. That is, there is a $10 upgrade path except if you have access to Days Gone through your PlayStation Plus subscription.

Days Gone was previously offered to PS Plus subscribers both as part of a PS Plus collection and also as a monthly PS Plus freebie in April 2021. If Days Gone is part of your library because of those PS Plus offerings, you are not eligible to partake of the $10 upgrade for Days Gone Remastered. Those PS Plus users will have to instead pay full price, or $50, for Days Gone Remastered if they want those rather meager upgrades.

Sony does seem to be a bit inconsistent when it comes to these $10 upgrades. Last year, Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered had a $10 upgrade path that was offered to everyone. This even includes being offered to owners of the game that picked up Horizon: Zero Dawn through the "Play at Home" campaign that PlayStation ran during the pandemic.
