Doom: The Dark Ages is officially set for release on May 15, 2025 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC. The game is still being worked on by id Software and will utilize the latest version of their id Tech game engine. Today during a new Xbox Developer_Direct, id Software and Bethesda Softworks confirmed that Doom: The Dark Ages will be a prequel to 2016's Doom.
You will once again step into the heavy boots of the Doom Slayer, where you will visit and purge new realms and unlock new powerful weapons. id says that you will conquer "some of the largest demons ever seen in a Doom game."
A new presentation for Doom: The Dark Ages was shared today as part of that Xbox Developer_Direct, which can be found below. Pre-orders for the game are also open today. Premium and Collector's Bundles will get two-day early access, access to future campaign DLC, a digital artbook and soundtrack, and the Divinity Skin Pack. The Collector's Bundle also comes with a 12" Doom Slayer Statue, Metal Red Key Card replica, SteelBook Case, and a physical game disc.
