  • Next-Gen Update for the Original Stalker Trilogy is Coming in 2025, Stalker 2 Roadmap Also Coming Soon

GSC Game World plans to keep working diligently in 2025.

GSC Game World shared a brief end of the year message on social media today. As part of their message, the team mentions that they will continue to update Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl in 2025. They also say that a roadmap of future content and updates for Stalker 2 will be shared near the start of the new year.

Text: Stalkers, Yesterday, a major patch 1.1 for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was released. All the time between the release and the Christmas holidays has been dedicated to improving your experience with our game. We hope that many of you will find the time to start, continue, or finish S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 during the holidays. Before the New Year, we would like to share our plans for the year 2025: We will continue to update S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 in the upcoming year. We will be ready to share the content roadmap for the game at the beginning of 2025. The next-gen patch for the console versions of S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Legends of the Zone Trilogy will be released next year. We know you’ve asked us to update the PC versions of the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games, and we also plan to do that. Keep an eye on our social media so you don’t miss the exact dates. The amount of support you’ve shown us since the game’s launch still amazes us. Your support is truly a miracle of the Zone. We will see you next year! GSC Game World team.

Perhaps more interesting for Stalker franchise fans is word that GSC Game World is still working on a next-gen patch for Stalker: Legends of the Zone Trilogy. They say that a next-gen patch for the console versions will be released at some point in 2025. They also say that they are going to update the PC versions of the original Stalker games in 2025.

Details on this next-gen patch for consoles and update for the PC versions were not shared by GSC Game World. I have to assume that this next-gen update for consoles will bump the output resolutions up to 4K, maybe offer a 120Hz mode, make better use of the SSDs, maybe up the visuals a bit here and there, and probably add in DualSense support on PS5 specifically.
