Dotemu and Leikir Studio teamed up to turn the classic run-and-gun Metal Slug action you all know and love and turn it into turn-based combat for Metal Slug Tactics. It's certainly a bold choice to change things up for a new title, so let's just see what this is all about.
Metal Slug Tactics is billed as "an homage to an all-time classic." It moves "iconic Metal Slug battles to tactical grid-based strategic gameplay." Metal Slug Tactics offers players access to over 20 different mission types played out across 100 different maps.
The game is available right now for $24.99 on PC, Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and Game Pass.
Today’s trailer showcases the Peregrine Falcons Squad undertaking daring missions through scorching deserts, lush jungles and urban battlefields as they take on General Morden’s lackeys. Battle a variety of enemies while gaining XP by completing objectives and missions to obtain new powers, weapon mods and level-ups – but with great firepower come even greater challenges. Strategic positioning and masterfully executed adrenaline-fueled combos are required to dominate Metal Slug Tactics' deeply tactical challenges.

- Joining Nadia on the roster is Trevor Spacey, who is no stranger to METAL SLUG games as comedic relief – but with a deadly twist. In Metal Slug Tactics, Trevor has tapped into the power of mind control backed up with powerful ninja skills. Together, Trevor and Nadia will dispatch enemies with galvanic force using iconic weapons from the classics of yesteryear.
