Developer Red Barrels just announced they are teaming up with Lionsgate to create a feature film based on the Outlast franchise. Red Barrels writer, JT Petty, is already working on the screenplay for the film.
So far, horror film producer Roy Lee is the only other named person attached to this film. Lee is best known as being a producer on films such as 2017's It, Late Night with the Devil, and Barbarian.
Details on the film are obviously extremely light right now. We'll obviously have more on this one as production ramps up. Place your bets now on whether or not it will be a "found footage" style of movie or not! Bonus side-bet on the number of uncensored swinging dongs will be shown on screen.
The latest Outlast game was The Outlast Trials, a co-op multiplayer game that I found to be quite enjoyable. The Outlast Trials has received a number of updates and new content since its initial release.
