I'm pretty sure I haven't asked this one yet.

I missed last month. I know. I may have already asked this one before? I'm old. I can't remember what I did yesterday. Deal with it.

This month, I'm curious about your preferences when it comes to online multiplayer gaming. Do you prefer pure competitive multiplayer (PvP) experiences in games where you go up against other human players? These would be like your usual Call of Duty multiplayer modes, your Conquest modes in Battlefield, your Quakes and Unreal Tournaments of the world, and so on.

Or do you prefer a more cooperative experience (PvE) where it's you and some friends or strangers going up against all AI controlled enemies? This would be something like Left 4 Dead's main mode, Destiny 2 main campaign stuff, Payday, The Outlast Trials, and Diablo 4 to name a few.

Or do you prefer a little mix of the two where you're going up against both real players and bots at the same time (PvPvE)? Some examples of these types of games include Dark and Darker, Escape from Tarkov, Hunt: Showdown, and the Gambit mode in Destiny 2.

I've almost totally fallen off of multiplayer for now, i haven't played games with friends for years and COD's aggressive matchmaking put me off for the time being, the last time i really enjoyed a multiplayer game was Insurgency: Sandstorm's co-op mode, i've been playing Tekken since 1997 so i got Tekken 8 but i never got over my anxiety of fighting online 1v1, it's too personal and i hate how it makes me feel.
I tried Tarkov but it's too hard, i tried Hunt: Showdown but it's too hard lol, single player versions of those games would be awesome.

Yeah, a lot of pure competitive PvP games are getting to be a bit too difficult for me these days. Well, I suppose it's mainly things like Call of Duty MP. My reactions are nowhere near what they used to be. It's kind of depressing.

I still enjoy plenty of co-op PvE games with friends though. And "slower" PvPvE games like Deadlock have been great fun so far.

It depends. I love my PvP in say CS or CoD, but in Only Human which has a direct choice of server type, much prefer PvE.

"PvP" & "PvE" sound like we're just discussing MMORPGs. If that were the case, for some reason I can't stand PvP, but in your online shooters of the world, that's the only way for me to play. Helldivers, for example, was a lot of fun, but I soon found that spot in the difficulty curve where playing harder felt unfair and playing one step below it felt too easy. At that point, since it's not against real people, the game just loses all of its fun. With real people there's at least a chance of outthinking them or trying to get in their heads. The AI in PvE, though, is just going to do what it's always done.

    Tekken World Tour 2019 Announced
    by Shawn Zipay

The Tekken World Tour 2019 was officially announced today. This new esports tournament series returns thanks to a partnership between Bandai Namco and Twitch. As you may safely assume, Twitch will be the go-to location to watch all of the latest Tekken 7 action. New this year for the World Tour is "more action" along with new locations, returning favorites (whatever that means), and "innovative tournament categories enabling more players to earn Tekken World Tour Ranking Points."

This is all on top of a prize pool that totals over $185,500 (USD). The World Tour Finals will have a $100,000 baseline prize purse for the best players. All of this begins on April 20, 2019 in France. ...
