Yager's "competitive quest shooter" is currently free to download in an early access state for the PC via the Epic Games Store. This release is the start of a series of updates that will see the game continue to grow. Some of the continued support includes additional languages and "regular seasons of content drops created with community feedback." Today sees the release of the "Crime & Punishment" update.

Crytek and Microsoft are teaming up to bring Hunt: Showdown, the PvPvPvPvPvE online game, to an even larger audience. This partnership will see Hunt: Showdown hitting the Xbox Game Preview program soon. How soon? I uh... I don't really know.

Crytek is offering you a chance to play HUNT: Showdown for free from right now until August 13 at 1PM (ET). As you may have also guessed, the game will be on sale during this time for a fairly decent 20% off.

You can download and start playing immediately via Steam.

Crytek also announced that this free weekend coincides with the addition of servers to South America. They also added new Steam trading cards, for those of you who are into that sort of thing.
