Electricity based weapons can lead to game crashes.

Helldivers 2 developer Arrowhead has warned players to stay away from using electricity based weapons. A new crash issue began to pop up following the release of the 1.000.103 update for the game, which arrived just this week.

The developer is urging players to not use the Arc Thrower, Arc Shotgun, or the Tesla Tower because these items can result in game crashes. The warning went out through the official Helldivers 2 Discord a short time ago today.

Arrowhead says that these crashes related to the arc-based gear will not be fixed until a patch that is planned to go out "early next week." This would suggest a new patch will be ready the week starting March 24.

We have identified the cause of the freezes many players have been experiencing, and we're in the process of building a patch to fix it that should be ready to deploy early next week. In the meantime, we advise against using the Arc Thrower, Arc Shotgun, and Tesla Tower as those appear to be linked to the issue. Thank you for your continued patience!
Despite introducing this unfortunate bug into Helldivers 2, Patch 1.000.103 did make some good adjustments to the spawn rates for various planet hazards that have been terrorizing players since being introduced. The patch reduced the spawn rates for tremors, meteor showers, volcanic eruptions, fire tornados, and ion storms. That patch also reduced the likelihood of patrols spawning on players, offered a fix for the exosuit being able to blow itself up, and made several other improvements.
