Obsidian's spy-thriller action-RPG Alpha Protocol is once again available on PC courtesy of GOG.com. This game was originally released in 2010 and was delisted back in 2019 due to issues with expiring music rights. Today's release at GOG has been enhanced in several ways and include several bonuses.

Today's GOG release retails normally for $19.99 but there is a little launch discount for -10%, bringing the price down to $17.99. Alpha Protocol also now comes with a licensed soundtrack (not sure if it's the original or a new one), achievement support, full controller support for modern controllers, localization support, modern operating system compatibility, and cloud save support.

Loyalty carries a price and no one knows this more than agent Michael Thorton. A talented young agent cast out by his government, Thorton is the only one with the information needed to stop an impending international catastrophe. To do so means he must cut himself off from the very people he is sworn to protect. As players determine how to accomplish different objectives, the decisions made and actions taken in each mission will ultimately transform the type of secret agent Michael Thorton will become. Every choice the player makes as Michael Thorton will carry consequences for his future and the fate of the world.
There is a companion video also released today to go along with this GOG re-launch of Alpha Protocol. The video is called "Making a Game Last Forever" and talks about the work that went into preserving Alpha Protocol and issues surrounding game preservation in general.
