25,300 12VHWPR angled adapters are being recalled.

Those of you with Nvidia GeForce RTX 40-series GPUs that purchased an angled 12VHPWR adapter from CableMod should be aware that they have officially been recalled. The official recall first appeared through the Consumer Product Safety Commission website and was spotted by hothardware.com.

The recall date is specified as February 8, 2024 and includes all V1.0 and V1.1 angled adapters. This includes the 90-degree and 180-degree versions in variants A and B and covers all purchases made from February 2023 to December 2023. The recall stems from the fact that if the mall connector becomes loose, it can lead to issues such as overheating, melting into the GPU which lead then into fire and burn hazards.
