Starfield will soon get the latest version of AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR). A Twitter post from Bethesda Game Studios says that FSR 3 will be added to Starfield via a Steam beta release next week. If the beta test goes smoothly, the update will be released to all PC players later in February.

FSR 3 is AMD's closest response yet to Nvidia's DLSS technology. FSR 3 adds in frame-generation technology in addition to the upscaling aspect. Unlike Nvidia's solution that only works on Nvidia's 40-series, FSR 3's frame-generation tech works on Nvidia RTX cards and newer AMD cards alike. The upscaling aspect of FSR 3 even works on older cards just as FSR 2 does.

Starfield launched with only support for FSR 2. However, there were a few unofficial mods released by the community that added frame-generation ahead of this official addition. It looks like more titles are starting to support FSR 3. One of those other recent releases to include FSR 3 support is Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth.
