Xbox finally makes the jump to VR! Well, sort of...

Roughly a year after it was announced, Xbox Cloud Gaming is now finally available on Meta Quest VR headsets. According to a new Xbox Wire announcement, those with Meta Quest 2, 3, or Pro headsets can now access the Xbox Cloud Gaming app. Though it should be noted that the app is currently only in beta.

Microsoft does note that you will need a few things in order to use Xbox Cloud Gaming. You will need one of the aforementioned supported headsets, the latest Quest software update, an active subscription to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, a supported controller, and a high-speed internet connection. If you meet these fairly obvious requirements, you'll be able to stream any game available on Game Pass through to your Quest device.

Meta says that the Quest controllers will not be supported within the Xbox Cloud Gaming app. This means you will need a separate controller to play the games through Xbox Cloud Gaming. Some of the supported controllers include any of the Xbox wireless controllers, the DualShock 4, and even the Nintendo Switch Pro controller. Theoretically, any capable Bluetooth enabled controller should work.

Those that meet these requirements, can get to Cloud Gaming right now by downloading and installing the Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) app from Meta.

Within the app itself, you will have access to the full Game Pass Ultimate library. You will be able to choose from four different display sizes for the screen. It does seem a little weird that you cannot simply drag the screen to be whatever size you want though. The background can also be customized slightly as either an Xbox-themed virtual space or you can just see your own physical surroundings via passthrough.
