Capcom's co-op focused dinosaur shooting game, Exoprimal, is now available. Created using their own RE Engine, Exoprimal can be yours for $59.99 (USD) on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. It's also out now for Game Pass on PC and Xbox.

The basic idea behind Exoprimal is that one day in 2040 a bunch of dinosaurs just show up all around the world. Their appearance threatens humanity's very existence. Thanks to the predictive abilities of an in-game A.I., named Leviathan, you will be able to lead a team of Exofighters to areas where outbreaks are about to occur. Once there, you'll take on tons of the dangerous dinos while using Exosuits equipped with various combat abilities.

Leviathan’s wargames unfold in the game’s main mode, Dino Survival. In these combat tests, two squads of five Exofighters race to complete various objectives before their opponents while also battling against swarms of dinosaurs. Dino Survival missions change from one game to the next based on players’ progression through the story. Some matches pit squads against one another, whereas others require rivals to band together to take down major threats like the monstrous Neo T. Rex. Dino Survival also offers the option to select a preference between matches with player-versus-player (PvP), player-versus-environment (PvE), or random final missions.

Choices extend to what armor players can take into the fray. Exoprimal features an arsenal of 10 Exosuits that each possess an array of unique abilities. Divided into Assault, Tank, and Support classes, every Exosuit has a distinct role in tackling the dinosaur threat and assisting their team. Exofighters can also change Exosuits at any time during battle to adapt to the ever-changing situation on the ground. Players can tailor their playstyle with equipment called Rigs, which offer Exosuits additional powers ranging from added offense and defense to increased mobility and healing powers. Modules further enable Exofighters to power-up their Exosuits and customize how they perform in combat.

As players progress through Dino Survival, they will unlock new Exosuits, gear, cosmetic items, and narrative content. The tale of the Hammerheads crew will unfold through story-related missions, cutscenes, and “lost data.” This intel includes audio logs, documents, and more that can be pieced together in the Analysis Map to solve the mystery behind the wargames and dinosaur outbreaks.
Capcom does plan to continue supporting Exoprimal after release. The studio shared some of those post-launch plans earlier this week and includes some crossover content, a new map, game modes, and more.
