Cliffhanger Games will lead this new project for EA.

The newly formed triple-A development studio, Cliffhanger Games, will be the studio in charge of a new, original Black Panther video game. The studio, based in Seattle, will develop an original, third-person, single-player action game with collaboration from Marvel Games.

If you haven't heard of Cliffhanger Games before, that's because the studio was also just announced today alongside the new Black Panther game. Cliffhanger Games is a newly formed Electronic Arts studio that is led by Kevin Stephens, formerly of Monolith Productions. Stephens is joined by several other industry veterans that worked on titles such as Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor, Halo Infinite, God of War, Call of Duty, and more.

“We’re dedicated to delivering fans a definitive and authentic Black Panther experience, giving them more agency and control over their narrative than they have ever experienced in a story-driven video game. Wakanda is a rich Super Hero sandbox, and our mission is to develop an epic world for players who love Black Panther and want to explore the world of Wakanda as much as we do,” said Kevin.
Both the studio and the Black Panther game's development are in very early stages. Cliffhanger Games is currently hiring to build up their team "over the next few years." While this new Black Panther game was just announced today, I would not expect to see much more in the way of news for at least another year, maybe even two years from now.

      by Shawn Zipay
The full list of nominees for The Game Awards 2018 was passed along to us today. You can check all of that out below.

You should know that The Game Awards will be held on Thursday, December 6 at the Microsoft Theater in LA at 9PM (ET). You can vote for your favorites right now at TheGameAwards.com, via Twitter Direct Message, Facebook Messenger, Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and the official Game Awards Discord server.

All of that seems really odd and they did not specify how to do any of that, but there you are. I even tried to ask my Google Home "how do I vote for The Game Awards" and it had no idea.

You will be able to watch The Game Awards live on December 6 through YouTube, Twitch, Twitter, Facebook, Mixer, Steam TV, PlayStation 4, Xbox Live, IGN, GameSpot, Polygon, MLG, and Caffeine.tv. Believe it or not, there are actually even more places still not yet announced where you can watch it, especially if you live in China....

The layoffs are done to "sharpen focus."

For the third time this year alone, employees have been laid off from Electronic Arts. The company has completely shuttered Cliffhanger Games and has also canceled the Black Panther game that was in development.

IGN was able to obtain a copy of the email that was sent to Electronic Arts' employees from EA Entertainment president Laura Miele. Miele's email says that these layoffs, along with other recent cancellations,...
