Remedy Entertainment teamed up with a "Finnish lighting company" named Airam to create and ready a limited release of an Alan Wake themed thermos. It's called the Oh Deer Diner thermos and like most thermoses (thermosi?), the Oh Deer Diner thermos will hold all sorts of liquids. Hot liquids. Cold liquids. Room temperature liquids. Even some questionable liquids.

If you like hydrating, this is the item for you. This is also good for those who found all 100 of these little thermos bottles in the first game that want to collect just one more.

Remedy says that in Alan Wake 2, slated to be out on October 17th, the thermos will play an even more important role.

Each Oh Deer Diner thermos can hold 0.45 liters and features a "high-quality glass interior." That 0.45 liters is about 0.95 US pints, 1.9 US cups, a bit over 15 US ounces, or 0.0028 of an oil barrel.

You will be able to purchase the Oh Deer Diner thermos starting in September 2023 from select retailers. In Finland, you will be able to pick it up from retailers such as K-Citymarket, Prisma, Kärkkäinen, Verkkokauppa.com, VPD Pelikauppa, Pick N Pay and Eurohamsteri. It will also be sold at the Remedy Games Store, and from Amazon at amazon.se, amazon.de, amazon.co.uk.

"The thermos bottle has become a notorious little detail that has achieved cult status among the Alan Wake player community. Fans remember the achievement in the original game which the player earned after finding 100 hidden thermos bottles. In the sequel, the thermos plays a significantly more important role. This got us excited about the idea of creating an authentic Oh Deer Diner thermos for our fans," says Remedy’s Communications Director Thomas Puha.

"At Remedy, we really value Finnish design sensibilities, which is what the iconic Airam thermos bottle also represents, so this collaboration was obvious to us," says Puha.

Behind the Alan Wake 2 X Airam collaboration is the design work of two prominent Finnish companies. The sequel to Alan Wake is the result of years of work by the Remedy development team. Airam's red thermos bottles, on the other hand, have been a part of Finns' everyday life for decades. The goal was to turn the game's thermos bottle into a real physical, high-quality extension of the gaming experience for fans.

"The Oh Deer Diner thermos is an example of a fan product designed with authenticity and quality first in mind. We are happy with how a nearly 90-year-old classic product gets a new generation look inspired by a video game," says Airam's Marketing Director Elina Tolonen.

Easily, the best horror game in years.

In 2010 Remedy Entertainment released Alan Wake, a game where a writer is pulled into a horrifying world seemingly of his own creation. Alan Wake was a game that I bounced off at least two times. Despite the game being well received by critics and fans, I felt like its gameplay was just a repetitive slog that even its unique story could not overcome. When a sequel was announced by Remedy, I found myself extremely indifferent to the news. Still...

      Alan Wake teases more platforms.

Remedy Entertainment has regained the publishing rights to the Alan Wake franchise from Microsoft.

The development studio is currently working on Control, but they apparently found a bit of time to acquire the rights to the horror-action romp starring an author. The company told investors that they would earn €2.5 million on royalties for "previously released games" this fiscal year.
