Epic Games Signs Publishing Deal with Remedy, Playdead, and gen DESIGN

A step up from the typical moneyhatting approach.

Epic Games announced today that they have entered into a new multiplatform publishing deal with three different developers. These developers include gen DESIGN (The Last Guardian), Playdead (Limbo, Inside), and Remedy Entertainment (Control, Alan Wake).

These partnerships are a bit unlike other recent Epic deals. Instead of spending a load of money to pull nearly complete games off of other platforms, they will actually...

    New Story Trailer for Control

    This is self-explanatory.

A new story trailer has come out for Control, the soon to be released title from Remedy Entertainment. Control promises to once again deliver the story-driven action that Remedy is known for. The studio previously brought us the first two Max Payne titles, Alan Wake, and Quantum Break.

If you thought Max Payne and Alan Wake offered up some otherworldly thrills, you haven't seen anything yet. The new story trailer gives you just a small glimpse...

Remedy Now Controls the Alan Wake IP

    Alan Wake teases more platforms.

Remedy Entertainment has regained the publishing rights to the Alan Wake franchise from Microsoft.

The development studio is currently working on Control, but they apparently found a bit of time to acquire the rights to the horror-action romp starring an author. The company told investors that they would earn €2.5 million on royalties for "previously released games" this fiscal year.

Alan Wake was released back in...

Two Popular LEGO Games Pulled from Steam

As the year ticked over into 2019, two LEGO titles were quietly pulled from Steam and other digital retailers. These two games are the now dearly departed LEGO The Lord of the Rings and LEGO The Hobbit.

The removal of these two games was first spotted via Reddit user SuperMoonky. It looks as though these games still have their Steam Store pages intact, but they no longer show up when searching for them. Additionally, there is no option to purchase the games should you somehow...

Alan Wake Returns to Steam Where You Can Get it for Just $3

Alan Wake is finally back on Steam. Remedy made the big announcement earlier today via Twitter. The company notes that Microsoft even helped them out when it came to renegotiating the rights to the licensed music that resulted in the game getting pulled in the first place. The return to Steam is met with a massive sale that drops the price to just $3 (USD). Even if you aren't a huge fan of the genre, you kind of shouldn't pass this up for just 3 bucks. I largely didn't like Alan Wake but ev...

When asked by Game Informer whether or not we would ever seen an Alan Wake 2, Remedy's Sam Lake gave the answer everybody wanted to hear.
    "Yes."

This short yet hopeful response was to the question that asked, "will we ever get to play Alan Wake 2?" Right now, Remedy is working on finishing up Quantum Break for the Xbox One. Speaking of which, Lake did say that he would like to eventually see Quantum Break on the PC some day....
