Gun Interactive just shared the details on what you should expect for the upcoming Technical Test for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. This asymmetrical horror title will have a test running from Thursday, May 25 through to Monday, May 29. This test will be focusing specifically on the PC version of the game.

The purpose of the Technical Test is to collect data on the technical performance the the capabilities of the latest playable build for The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. That is to say, this is more of a stress test of the game engine and backend services. This will allow the teams working on the game to adjust server settings to be as prepared as they can be prior to the game's August 18th launch.

PC specs needed to play The Texas Chain Saw Massacre at various resolutions and framerates were shared as well today. These requirements for the test are specifically said to be "a bit more strict than what will be present at launch." The final game will have additional optimizations that will impact the final system requirements of the full release.

  • 1080p 30FPS
    • i5 CPU / 8GB RAM / 30GB HDD / RTX 2070
  • 1080p 60FPS

Those interested in joining the Technical Test will want to wishlist the game on Steam. The devs say that this is the "best way to stay informed of when the Technical Test page goes live." Not everyone will get into the test either as space is limited. This is free and open to the public meaning that anybody has a chance to get in.

As well, the Technical Test will be limited in the content you can play.

What content should we expect in the tech test? Maps, characters, metagame, etc?

Players can expect PVP matches with other people who received Steam keys. You will only be allowed to access the Family House map during the Technical Test. Players can expect to play as Victims Leland, Connie, Sonny, and Ana. For Family, players will be able to choose from The Cook, The Hitchhiker, and Leatherface.
