Microsoft announced a new referral program that will allow existing Game Pass subscribers to refer friends for a free 14-day trial to the service. Each person with either Game Pass Ultimate or PC Game Pass will be able to send up to five referrals by clicking on the new "Give PC Game Pass" button from the Game Pass home screen.

Each of these trials can be redeemed for access to a 14-day PC Game Pass trial subscription. That is, the person referred will get these two weeks of the trial so long as they never had Game Pass before. You obviously also cannot use these 14-day trials to extend an active subscription.

It seems this new referral program is the first of Microsoft's "different marketing promotions" since they ended the $1 Game Pass trial offer back in March.

If nothing else, a free trial sounds like a rather decent price to pay right now to give new Game Pass titles like Redfall a try. Right?

The free trial comes with all the benefits of PC Game Pass, including new titles from Xbox Game Studios on day one, an EA Play membership, and you can check out the biggest PC and mobile games on PC from Riot Games. Link your Riot Games account and Xbox profile to unlock the greatest Agents, champions, little legends, XP boosts, and more in Valorant, League of Legends, Teamfight Tactics, and Legends of Runeterra.

PC Game Pass lets you discover and play a curated library of hundreds of high-quality PC games from great developers around the world, including games like Forza Horizon 5, Sea of Thieves, and more. With new games added all the time, there’s always something new to play.
