According to the watch I don't own, Google Stadia is now probably shut down. Well, if it's not at the time of posting, it probably will be by the time you read this. Stadia was set to shut down on January 18th and, well, it's now January 18th.
At the 11th hour, Google released a new support tool that will allow those with a Stadia Controller to use it as a general Bluetooth controller. Without the use of this tool, the Stadia controller would have just become a paperweight and yet another form of electronic waste.
Once you run the tool, the Stadia Controller will deactivate the Wi-Fi connection that was present on the controller. It will then enable support that allows you to connect to devices that support Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE). To connect via Bluetooth to other devices, you will need to press the Stadia button and the "Y" button at the same time for two seconds. After holding these for two seconds, the status light should flash orange.
There is just one small catch to this whole thing: The Stadia Controller conversion tool will only be available for a limited time. You have just until December 31, 2023 to grab the tool and enable Bluetooth mode. This cutoff date was mentioned on this Stadia Controller support page. Be sure to convert your controllers before the end of the year!
