THQ Nordic says that the classic RPG Risen is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch on January 24, 2023. This action-RPG dates back to 2009 when it was first released on PC and the Xbox 360 and is a damn fine RPG that doesn't shy away from being brutally difficult at times. The Risen titles are essentially the spiritual successor to the equally difficult Gothic franchise.
Weirdly, THQ Nordic is partnering with GameStop on this release. Apparently the retailer that is somehow still in business will be the only place where you can purchase the PlayStation 4 and Switch versions of the game in North America. I'm sure you'll be able to purchase the games through your preferred platform's digital storefront too.
The PC release of Risen won't be left out in the cold when this console release happens. THQ says that the old PC release will get an update that adds in controller support to the game.
