The newly released update ties into the upcoming Cyberpunk anime.
Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners update

During the latest episode of Night City Wire by CD Projekt Red, the studio announced the release of Patch 1.6 for Cyberpunk 2077. This update is nicknamed Edgerunners Update and it takes its name from the upcoming anime, Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. This is a new Netflix show that will air starting on September 13.

This tie-in to the anime will feature some new equippable items seen throughout the show. One of the new items is the "iconic" jacket that is worn by the show's protagonist, David Martinez. There is also a new shotgun that is used by an unspecified character in the show.

But what's the point of getting a new jacket if the game doesn't feature a transmog system, right? Fortunately for fans, that's also been added to Cyberpunk 2077 in today's update. The Wardrobe is now accessible from any of V's apartments and safehouses. You can save up to six outfits that can be viewed and selected from the inventory.

The Patch 1.6 also adds in cross-platform saves and progression. This means you can save your game on one system, upload the save to the cloud, and continue playing later on a different platform.

CD Projekt Red also says that this update also includes the ability to play Roach Race at any arcade cabinet in Night City. This is a minigame where you control Roach, the horse from The Witcher series, in an endless runner style game through various Witcher locations. High scores will earn you in-game rewards in the form of money and items. If you want to play Roach Race outside of the game, you can now do so as it has been released as a standalone game on iOS and Android.

Patch 1.6 also includes a little extra for cat lovers. Nibbles the cat, whom you can meet and adopt in Cyberpunk 2077, can now be posed in Photo Mode.

Patch 1.6 also includes "additional weapons, quests, and some new secrets to uncover in Night City."
