Player pleas have gone ignored by another company.

Yet again, the annual release of NBA 2K23 on PC will be based on the previous-gen version. For years, fans have been asking for 2K Games to include enhancements from the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S releases in the PC release. Those requests have continued to be ignored.

Details about the PC version of NBA 2K23 were shared in an FAQ section on 2K Games' website. It notes flatly that both the PC and Nintendo Switch versions of NBA 2K23 will not receive the graphical and gameplay additions that are seen in the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.

As we have noted in other stories here, the NBA 2K series is not the only one offering PC players a raw deal. EA has done the same now with the Madden NFL games for the past three years running. EA's release of FIFA 22 on PC was also based on the previous-gen version.

While it is understandable that these studios are more than likely placing greater effort into the versions that will pull in more money through both sales and microtransactions, they have to realize that they're only shooting themselves in the foot by continuing to do this. If all they're doing is releasing an inferior product on PC year after year, those sales will just continue to decrease on PC.

Just as the case is with the upcoming Madden NFL 23 release, I recommend that PC gamers avoid purchasing this year's release of NBA 2K23. Either studios will take notice and stop releasing inferior versions on PC, or they'll ditch the PC releases entirely. With how things are, that wouldn't exactly be a great loss for anyone.
