The V20.30 update for Fortnite Battle Royale dropped in the wee hours of the morning and with it came a lot of changes. There are now some Star Wars things added to the game including Lightsabers, a banner, a little something in the sky, and more.

Epic Games put up an entirely separate news post about their May the 4th festivities. Not just content with one day, Epic will be offering a special mashup of Fortnite and Star Wars from now until May 17, 2022. This event brings back some Star Wars content from previous years as well as new items. This is a good opportunity for you to pick up any non-Battle Pass Star Wars outfits. Just use the Support-A-Creator code "zips" when checking out with those V-Bucks purchases. This news post isn't sponsored but that last sentence is most definitely an affiliate thing.

This event allows you to pick up and use Luke Skywalker's Lightsaber along with Kylo Ren's Lightsaber, Mace Windu's Lightsaber, and Obi-Wan's Lightsaber. You can also use the E-11 Blaster Rifle and can get one by talking to Stormtroopers at various checkpoints on the island.

There are also some Star Wars themed challenges to complete. Doing so will earn you some XP and an Empire Banner.

Star Wars skins back in the Item Shop include the following:

  • Imperial Stormtrooper
  • Kylo Ren
  • Zorii Bliss
  • Finn
  • Rey
  • Sith Trooper
  • Boba Fett
  • Fennec Shand
  • Krrsantan
Not a fan of Star Wars? Well, the V20.30 update still adds in a bunch of other stuff too. The Choppas may return to the game so long as fans fund their return. Shotguns have also gotten a bit of a balance pass.

Specific changes to Shotguns available in Fortnite Battle Royale/Zero Build:
  • Minimum pellet-hit count increased from 3 to 4 for the Striker Pump Shotgun, Auto Shotgun, and Drum Shotgun.
  • Striker Pump Shotgun and Auto Shotgun pellet damage and headshot damage increased.
  • Ranger Shotgun and Drum Shotgun headshot damage greatly increased, but no change to base pellet damage.
  • Drum Shotgun damage falloff adjusted, shortening effective range.
The ongoing in-game story of the battle between the two factions continues today. The battle has moved from Rocky Reels over to Tilted Towers. Also, a bug was fixed that prevented the giant vaults from opening. They should work again.
