GSC Game World, the Kyiv-based development studio working on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, say that their current focus is focused on helping employees and their families survive the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The studio released a brief video today emphasizing the danger present within their country.

This reveal actually came in a video that opens with a look inside the studio's motion capture work, which was recorded last week. It was supposed to be included with a showcase of the motion capture work being done for Stalker 2's cutscenes.

GSC says that this video is an "answer to 'How are you guys?'" They continue on to say, "Now we are striving to help our employees and their families to survive. The game development shifted to the sidelines, but we will definitely continue after the victory."

It should probably go without saying, but the planned December 8 release date for Stalker 2 more than likely isn't going to happen. That should really be the last thought on anybody's mind right now.

Right now, Russian troops continue their bombardment of cities throughout Ukraine. The causality numbers of armed forces and civilians continues to rise with each passing day. Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine and the home of GSC Game World is said to currently be surrounded by approaching Russian troops.
