Rebel Wolves will make a dark fantasy RPG in Unreal Engine 5.

Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the game director behind The Witcher 3 and co-director for Cyberpunk 2077, has formed a new game studio. The studio is called Rebel Wolves and it's aiming to be a new AAA development studio. It already has its first project lined up: A AAA dark fantasy RPG that will be built on Unreal Engine 5.

Rebel Wolves is made up of several game development veterans. These include a number of devs that have worked on Cyberpunk 2077, The Witcher series, and even Shadow Warrior 2.

The studio s targeting platforms such as PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S with its first title. Tomaszkiewicz left CD Projekt Red in May of 2021 following allegations of workplace bullying. A lengthy investigation found him to be not guilty of said allegations. However, in an email sent to employees at the time, Tomaszkiewicz says that he was "going to continue working on myself" and he says that he hopes to change.

"We want to evolve the cRPG genre by creating unforgettable stories… all while working as a tightly knit team united by a shared goal and ambition… We want to stay small and agile — a place where people know and care for each other."
