Square Enix says that Final Fantasy 7 Revelation will be released digitally and physically on April 8, 2027. This is a simultaneous release for PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, Switch 2, Steam, and Epic.
The release date announcement comes alongside other major Final Fantasy 7 Revelation news. There is a new, extended gameplay video, and pre-orders for the game also kicked off today.
Square Enix claims that Revelation offers up a "world without boundaries." Players will get to explore the planet by flying around the Highwind airship. While on land, Cloud and crew can mount Chocobos that will also evolve with new abilities throughout the game.
Master the perfected version of the series’ acclaimed hybrid combat system, with new playable characters Cid and Vincent and the new FITS system, which bestows new abilities and greater heights of power through the specialized roles of Warrior, Knight, Black Mage and Summoner. Today’s footage also reveals new gameplay features. Players can freely swap their active, controlled character, as well as their party makeup, at any time while exploring the world. By choosing which party members undertake certain quests, players can customize their narrative experience, impacting how certain events and scenarios unfold.
