Would you kindly make a movie?
Netflix just announced that they will be creating a live-action film adaptation based on BioShock. The streaming service announced that they are partnering with 2K, Vertigo Entertainment, and Take-Two on this adaptation of the game set in Rapture, the city set deep underwater.
According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, no writer or director is currently attached to the project. However, plans for this movie have been in the works for about a year now.
BioShock was released back in 2007. It was a spiritual successor to the System Shock games. It is a first-person shooter that combined firearm combat with "Super Power" style abilities granted to the player through Plasmids. The player fights their way through this underwater hell to find out what happened to a city that was meant to host the world's brightest and most prosperous individuals.
It will be interesting to see how they handle a lot of the lore and story from the game with this film. I would think that a mini-series would be better suited for a project like this, but I'm also just some guy that writes about video games on the Internet, so what do I know?

Netflix must have had some spare cash that has been burning a hole in their pocket for a while, because it's now come to light that the streaming service was at one point interested in purchasing Electronic Arts.
As we all know by now, Electronic Arts is in the process of being acquired by some really terrible groups and people. Meanwhile, Netflix is attempting to purchase Warner Bros. for $82 billion, though that might be...-

The Netflix film adaptation of BioShock is said to be "reconfigured" to be a "more personal" film. That is a polite way of saying that Netflix has cut the budget back significantly for BioShock.
This unfortunate news was shared via Variety and comes direct from BioShock producer Roy Lee during a San Diego Comic-Con panel. Lee has produced films such as It, The Departed, and The Ring. The BioShock movie is...-

Since last year, Netflix has been by giving its users access to a selection of free video games as they continue to try and diversify the product that they continue to offer. However, it has been revealed to have been a rather sluggish start.
The games to have been offered have only had a total of 23.3 million downloads, as well as an average of 1.7 million daily users, according to research undertaken by Apptopia for CNBC. These findings make for grim reading for the streaming...-
