BioShock Movie in Development at Netflix

Would you kindly make a movie?

Netflix just announced that they will be creating a live-action film adaptation based on BioShock. The streaming service announced that they are partnering with 2K, Vertigo Entertainment, and Take-Two on this adaptation of the game set in Rapture, the city set deep underwater.

According to a report by The Hollywood Reporter, no writer or director is currently attached to the project. However, plans for this movie have been in the works for...

Next Game from BioShock Creator is Reportedly in 'Development Hell'

Ken Levine's newest project is said to be stuck in "development hell."

Developer Ken Levine has a rather impressive list of titles under his belt. He has worked on games such as Thief: The Dark Project, System Shock 2, and the first three mainline BioShock titles. About eight years ago, Levine announced his new project with his new studio, Ghost Story Games. Since then, not much about the game has been revealed.

According to a new report by Bloomberg, the lack...

  • BioShock Mod for Half-Life: Alyx is Now a Complete Campaign

BioShock Mod for Half-Life: Alyx is Now a Complete Campaign

Darling it's better, down where it's wetter.

In October 2020 we told you about a short mod for Half-Life: Alyx that took us to Rapture, the undersea city of BioShock fame. At the time, the mod was fairly short, clocking in at about 25 minutes worth of gameplay.

Today, that mod has seen some massive expansion and is now considered a full campaign. Return to Rapture combines the Half-Life: Alyx VR engine with assets and more from BioShock. This is an eight-episode release...

Half-Life: Alyx Mod Takes Us to BioShock's Rapture

    There's always a lighthouse.

A new mod for Half-Life: Alyx was brought to light today courtesy of UploadVR. This mod, from developer wim.buytaert.1988, combines together Half-Life: Alyx with BioShock. The core idea here is that Alyx "crash-lands" in the underwater world of Rapture.

This is accomplished by using repurposed assets from Half-Life: Alyx in combination with new assets based on locations within BioShock itself. It's not a 1 to 1 recreation of BioShock,...

BioShock and Call of Cthulhu Among the Free Games for February 2020

Here are your free Games with Gold and PlayStation Plus offerings.

Both Microsoft and Sony announced what their "free" games will be for the month of February 2020. I say "free" like that because, as we all know, you do have to be a subscriber to either Xbox Live, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, or PlayStation Plus in order to gain access to the titles.

With that said, let's get down to business.

Microsoft announced that Xbox One owners will get...

New 2K Studio Confirmed to be Working on Next BioShock Game

The first project for the new Cloud Chamber is the next entry in the BioShock series.

2K just announced today that they have opened up a new game development studio under their publishing umbrella. The new studio is called Cloud Chamber and will have not one but two different locations for their operations. The team will operate both out of 2K's San Francisco Bay Area HQ in Novato, CA in addition to a new location in Montreal, Quebec. This marks the first Canadian office for 2K....

Review: Close to the Sun (PC)

Come out to the Helios, we'll get together, have a few laughs…

Close to the Sun is the latest offering in the genre mashup that blends horror with a story driven narrative experience. It is developed by Storm in a Teacup and published by Wired Productions. This particular review focuses on the PC version of the game, but will be coming later this year to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. It should be noted that the PC release looks to be an Epic Games Store exclusive. I maybe...

Rumor: New BioShock in Development from 2K

According to some quick investigative work by Kotaku's Jason Schreier, a "top-secret" 2K studio is working on a "top-secret" new BioShock game. Schreier found this out while reporting on a story about Hangar 13 and how that studio lost its way with Mafia III.

This should probably not come as too big of a surprise to anybody. It will be interesting to see how this new BioShock game fares without Ken Levine and Irrational Games.
