Torn Banner Studios just updated Chivalry 2 with a little Christmas spirit. Today's update, called "Merry Chivmas," is free to every player of Chivalry 2 across all platforms. There are various holiday themed map decorations and new throwables added in this time limited event.

In addition, there is the new Warbow weapon, new armory items, and an entirely new Brawl map: Cathedral.

Merry Chivmas runs from now through January 7. Decorations include holly, ornaments, and Chivmas trees added to the following maps:

  • Team Objective mode: Coxwell, Falmire, Galencourt
  • Last Team Standing: Galencourt, Falmire, Wardenglade
  • Team Deathmatch: Wardenglade
  • FFA: Wardenglade
  • Brawl: Cathedral
There are also snowmen, snow forts, and medieval sleighs that act as weapon racks to help you "sleigh" your enemies. That's their joke, not mine. I'm not witty enough.

There's also some new items that you can throw at your foes:

  • Snowballs for snowball fights
  • Throwable gift wrapped anvil
  • Throwable ornaments
  • Julbock (Yule Goat)
  • Chivmas Elves
  • Stationary snowman with removable head and arms
  • Wooden toys
  • Yule log
The newly added weapon, the Warbow, offers increased damage at the cost of mobility. There are also over 30 new armory items that you can unlock to customize your classes with. This new content is released alongside a typical update for the game with the assortment of tweaks and fixes. You can find the full list of changes here, assuming the site loads for you (it was down at the time of this posting).

At present, Chivalry 2 for the PC is still only available through the Epic Games Store.
