PopCap and EA just announced that Plants vs. Zombies: Battle for Neighborville will be released on the Nintendo Switch on March 19. Not only is it finally getting released on the Switch but it will be the "Complete Edition" of the game. That means it includes access to all characters, maps, and post-launch content that hit the PlayStation, Xbox, and PC versions of the game.

All cosmetics in the game are unlockable through playing the game. EA says that there is no premium store or currency.

Players will be able to play offline, or party with up to three friends, or even go into the 8 vs 8 competitive multiplayer modes.

This release will, I believe at least, mark the first time that a Frostbite Engine title was released on the Nintendo Switch.

“We are excited to bring everyone’s favorite Plants vs. Zombies™ characters to Nintendo Switch for the first time, giving players the ability to play in their homes or on the go, however they choose,” said Melvin Teo, Producer at PopCap Vancouver. “The Switch’s motion controls allow us to try a fresh new take on Neighborville, and with its docked and portable play, we have the ability to bring the game and its characters to life in ways that weren’t possible before.”
